Scoring
A correct answer is worth 100 points, plus a speed bonus of up to 100 that decays across the clock, plus an obscurity bonus of up to 50 for lesser-known films. Consecutive correct answers multiply the total: ×1.25 from two in a row, ×1.5 from four, ×2 from six. A clean sweep of all ten adds 250. A wrong answer or a timeout scores nothing and resets the streak.
Where the wrong answers come from
The three wrong titles are drawn fresh every single time, so replaying a film never gives you the same options twice. They are weighted toward films from the same genre and decade as the answer, which is what makes Cinephile hard: a 1970s crime film gets 1970s crime decoys.
